Are You Headed in the Wrong Direction? Life Not Going Well? Need God In Your Life?

The Way of Salvation

What shall we conclude then?  Are we any better?  Not at all!  We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin.  (Romans 3:9)

…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.  (Romans 3:23-24)

Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.  For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.  (Romans 5:18-19)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.  (Romans 6:23)

That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.   For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth you confess and are saved.  (Romans 10:9-10)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  (John 3:16-17)

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then the Gentile.  For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”  (Romans 1:16-17)

The Way of The Cross

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must take up his cross and follow me.  For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.”  (Matthew 16: 24-25)

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.   (1 Corinthians 1:18)

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.  (Galatians 2:20)
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.   (Galatians 6:14)

And being found in appearance as a man, he [Jesus] humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross.  (Phillipians 2:8)
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him [Jesus], and through him reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood shed on the cross.  (Colossians 1:19-20)

When you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ.  He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.  And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.   (Colossians 2:13-15)

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  (Hebrews 12:2)

(Scripture taken from the New International Version – used by permission)

Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’ intended plan for us.  God’s way of correcting this problem was to send his son Jesus Christ to die for our sin.  Through his death, we can live as God intended us to live.  It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can be saved.

Prayer:

God, I confess my sin to you and ask for your help.  I need to be saved and to live as you want me to.  Please forgive me of my sin and empower me to walk in a new way of life.  I accept Jesus Christ into my life.  Amen.
